Workshop on EU Project Management with Mr Rui Miguel SANTOS | Capacity Building Office

The Capacity Building Office of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to organise a workshop titled: "EU Project Management" with Mr Rui Miguel SANTOS, Expert and trainer in Results-Based Management and Evaluation of Development Programs & Projects.

The workshop consisted of 5 sessions held in three days which offered a comprehensive journey through the life cycle of European projects - from securing EU funding and crafting tender proposals to effective implementation and thorough evaluation. Participants gained essential knowledge of Project Cycle Management (PCM), which encompasses all key management activities and decision-making processes throughout a project's lifespan.

This workshop was particularly valuable for those seeking to deepen their understanding of EU funding processes and to develop practical skills in project management: a crucial asset in today’s competitive job market. Learning how to manage EU projects efficiently not only enhances personal competencies but also boosts career prospects across enterprises and institutions alike.

 

About the speaker:

Mr Rui Miguel SANTOS is a seasoned expert in Results-Based Management and the Evaluation of Development Programs and Projects. For over 25 years, he has been part of CESO Development Consultants (CEO), a consultancy firm specialising in European projects across more than 35 countries.

He is a lead trainer at the Council of Europe, an invited lecturer at the University of Maastricht, and has taught in the EU Project Management Executive Course at the College of Europe in Bruges and Natolin since 2014. With extensive experience in technical assistance projects funded by organisations such as the European Commission, the United Nations, and the World Bank, Mr SANTOS has a proven track record in project cycle management. He has also developed comprehensive teaching materials on public policy management, Results-Based Management, and the Rights-Based Approach.
