The women’s rights activist, Veronika Tsepkalo meets with CoET students
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we honored the contribution of women to peace, security, and democracy by welcoming and women’s rights activist, Ms. Veronika Tsepkalo, to our campus.
In conversation with our resident professor, Odeta Barbullushi, and our students, Ms. Tsepkalo shared stories of repression and resistance to the authoritarian regime in her home country.
A laureate of the Karlspreis, Ms. Tsepkalo has also been nominated for Nobel Peace Price in 2021, alongside Svetlana Tsihanouskaya and Maria Kalesnikana, for her contributions to peace and to upholding human rights in Belarus.
She is the Chair of the Belarus Women’s Foundation, supporting female political prisoners and their children.
A heartfelt thank you to Veronica Tsepkalo for sharing your journey with us.
