Uwe Puetter is Professor of European Integration and European Politics at Europa-Universität Flensburg, Germany.

His most recent research focuses on the EU core executive. The core executive is understood as the ensemble of lead actors from the EU's executive institutions who have both intergovernmental and supranational allegiances and share power in major cross-sectoral policy responses. The related article ‘The EU core executive and the Green Deal’ (with Chiara Terranova) appeared in West European Politics.

Together with his College of Europe colleagues Dermot Hodson and Sabine Saurugger, Uwe Puetter is co-editor of the latest edition of 'The institutions of the European Union' (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2021). Dermot Hodson and Uwe Puetter look back at the last decade of EU institutional politics and implications for integration theory in their latest review piece for the Journal of Common Market Studies 'The new intergovernmentalism 10 years on'.
