Jean-Pierre CASSARINO

Professor Jean-Pierre Cassarino teaches at Natolin a core course titled “International Cooperation and the Governance of Migration.” This course offers a reflection on the ways in which the international cooperation on migration governance has expanded by gradually mobilizing state and non-state actors having contrasting, if not conflicting, goals.

He has more than twenty years of experience in comparative politics. His research interests and publications focus on patterns of international cooperation and modes of norm diffusion and policy transfers in dynamic regional consultative processes, especially with reference to the "management" of migration and borders. He is most interested in comparatively analysing policy design and implementation as well as in how policy transfers are administered (and often readjusted) through processes of bilateral and multilateral consultations between the EU and third countries.
