Antonia-Evangelia CHRISTOPOULOU

Dr. Antonia-Evangelia Christopoulou is a Doctoral Assistant at the European Legal Studies Department of the College of Europe (Bruges).
She studied law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she also obtained an LLM in Public Law, and holds a further LLM in Human Rights and EU Law from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
She recently defended her PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam on participatory democracy as an EU constitutional principle. Antonia is an accredited lawyer in Athens and has completed traineeships at the Greek National Commission for Human Rights, the Hellenic Parliament, and the European Commission.
She has participated in academic conferences and published papers and blog posts on EU democracy, transparency, consultations and the European Citizens’ Initiative.
Main academic interests: EU Constitutional Law, EU Institutional law, EU democracy, citizen participation and judicial protection.
