Dr. Anna-Lena Högenauer is an Associate Professor in political science at the University of Luxembourg with a focus on European Union politics and European comparative politics. She is also the Director of the Master in European Governance of the University of Luxembourg. She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Edinburgh, an MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges), and a BA in European Studies with French from King’s College London. Before joining the University of Luxembourg in 2014, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Maastricht University.
Her research focuses on democracy, legitimacy and transparency in European Union politics, on small states in EU politics and on the role of women in politics. She is the co-editor of the Routledge series Small State Studies and a member of the editorial boards of the journals Small States & Territories and Politics and Governance and of Political Data Yearbook.
