Open discussion with the writer and philosopher Lea Ypi
Is there a better way to begin a new semester than by listening, reflecting, and learning together?
This Monday, the College of Europe in Tirana, in collaboration with the EU Delegation, welcomed the Albanian writer and philosopher Lea Ypi for a discussion, moderated by our resident professor, Odeta Barbullushi.
Lea’s book, Indignity, opened the door to reflections on collective memory, dignity, power, and what we choose to remember as societies.
We discussed the role of history and the past in shaping democratic politics, as well as the relationship between democracy and literature. The conversation continued with a lively Q&A by our curious students and engaged readers.
Thank you, Lea Ypi, for your insights and for inviting us into the worlds of your characters and the questions they leave us with.
