The Natolin EU Frontier Study Trip Module is Successfully Accomplished
This past week at the College of Europe in Natolin, we had the pleasure of welcoming 29 young diplomats from EU Member States, Candidate Countries, and EU institutions — participants of the European Union Diplomatic Academy (EUDA) and the EU Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region (EUDP) — for the Natolin EU Frontier Study Trip Module.
Over seven days, the programme combined history, dialogue, and field visits to explore how Russia’s war against Ukraine is reshaping Europe’s security and the global order.
From a reflective opening at the historic Natolin estate, to expert-led discussions with the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM), the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participants gained deep insights into the roots and far-reaching consequences of Russia’s invasion.

Through sessions in Natolin, team-building activities, city walks in Warsaw, exchanges with local leaders in Rzeszów and Przemyśl, meetings with the Polish and Italian (FRONTEX) Border Guards at the Medyka border crossing, and a visit to the MEDEVAC Hub at Jasionka Airport, the group witnessed first-hand the humanitarian, security, and political challenges faced at the EU’s frontier — as well as the remarkable resilience of local communities and institutions, and the strength of international solidarity and cooperation.
The module concluded at the EU–Ukraine border — a powerful reminder of why diplomacy, solidarity, and informed dialogue remain vital in navigating today’s complex international environment.
