Mikael WIGELL is Founder and CEO of the Economic Security Forum (ESF), an independent think tank and advisory platform focused on geoeconomics, economic resilience, and strategic competitiveness. A globally recognized thought leader in the field, he has advised governments, international institutions, including the European Commission, IMF, and OECD, as well as Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Wigell holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge, and Oxford University. He previously served as Research Director at the Finnish Institute of International Affairs and he currently serves as Associate Professor at the Tampere University. He is also Editor-in-Chief of Law & Geoeconomics and has authored and edited numerous publications on economic statecraft. His forthcoming book Age of Geoeconomics will be published in 2026 by Bloomsbury.
