Guest Lecture by Deputy Minister of Justice, Tedi Dobi
Last week, we welcomed Tedi Dobi, Deputy Minister of Justice of Albania, as a guest lecturer in Professor Gentian Elezi’s course “Democratic Consolidation and the Rule of Law in Southeastern Europe.”
He shared valuable insights into Albania’s experience in aligning with EU requirements under Chapter 23 of its EU accession process, with a particular focus on the functioning of democratic institutions.
The guest lecture concluded with an engaging Q&A, during which students explored key topics such as the judiciary’s vetting process, the role of SPAK in tackling high-level and organised crime, and broader rule-of-law challenges.
The discussion also touched on the lasting impact of historical legacies, such as communism and authoritarianism, on today’s rule-of-law culture.
Thank you, Mr. Tedi Dobi, for the open exchange with our students.
