The “Future of the Transatlantic Partnership” with H.E. Mark Gitenstein, US Ambassador to the EU

On 8 November 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming back H.E. Mr. Mark Gitenstein, Ambassador of the United States of America to the European Union, for his farewell visit to our Bruges campus.
The visit began with a meeting between Ambassador Gitenstein and students of our Master of Arts in Transatlantic Affairs (MATA), Rector Federica Mogherini, and members of the European Union Diplomatic Academy (EUDA). This gathering offered a unique opportunity for our students and young diplomats to engage directly with the Ambassador, gaining insights into the current state and future outlook of the cooperation between the United States and the European Union.
In the keynote session that followed, Ambassador Gitenstein addressed a larger audience of students, staff, and EUDA participants, sharing insights on the evolving dynamics of the transatlantic partnership in a rapidly changing international landscape.
An interactive Q&A session, moderated by Rector Mogherini, allowed participants to further explore these themes in conversation with the Ambassador.
