Dorota DAKOWSKA

Dorota Dakowska is Professor of Political Science at Sciences Po Aix, as well as an Honorary Fellow of the Institut Universitaire de France. She has previously held positions at the University of Lyon 2 and Sciences Po Strasbourg. She received her PhD from Sciences Po Paris. She has also taught as a visiting professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the University of Freiburg, Jagiellonian University, the University of Wrocław and the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
Her research focuses on the promotion of democracy and authoritarian backlash in Central and Eastern Europe, the politics of EU enlargement, and the European and international dimensions of higher education reforms. More recently, she has studied the dynamics of exile from Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion. Her publications include: Le pouvoir des fondations. Des acteurs de la politique étrangère allemande (Presses universitaires de Rennes, 2014) and Faire, défaire la démocratie: De Moscou, Bogota, Téhéran au Conseil de l’Europe (with P. Bonnard and B. Gobille, Karthala, 2021). She has also contributed among others to the Journal of International Relations and Development, the Journal of Public Policy, Higher Education, Politix, Critique internationale, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of European Union Politics.
