Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama visits the College of Europe in Bruges

On Tuesday, 16 September 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming H.E. Edi RAMA, Prime Minister of Albania, to our Bruges campus for an engaging exchange with students of the Victoria Amelina Promotion and young diplomats of the European Union Diplomatic Academy and European Union Diplomatic Programme for the Enlargement Region.

The discussion addressed a wide range of themes, from Albania’s path towards EU accession to the broader challenges of European integration and the opportunities presented by artificial intelligence. Our students actively contributed to the debate, raising questions and sharing reflections on some of the most pressing issues shaping the future of Europe.

In his address, Prime Minister Rama underlined the unique role of our institution, and remarked“The College of Europe is not only a temple of knowledge, it is the laboratory of Europe itself.” A vision that perfectly captures what makes the College experience so unique: a place where Europe is studied, imagined, debated, and built every day!

We are grateful to Prime Minister Rama for engaging with our community and inspiring our students to think critically and ambitiously about Europe’s next chapter.
