PRESS RELEASE | The Competition Summer School for Asian officials returns to Bruges this summer

Asia Partnerships Facility

The Competition Summer School for Asian officials, organised by the College of Europe within the framework of the EU-funded project Asia Partnerships Facility, will take place in Bruges this summer from 30th June to 11th July 2025.

Competition officials from ASEAN Member States, Bangladesh and India will attend the course with a mix of case officers from the European Commission and EU Member States’ competition authorities, academics, and legal practitioners as speakers, as well as panel debates and other exchanges between enforcers from Asia and Europe.

On 1st July, participants from all the partner countries will make a visit to the European Commission Directorate-General for Competition in Brussels, during which several sessions, discussions and exchanges will take place between the Asian and EU officials.

During the two weeks in Bruges, participants will deepen their understanding of EU competition law and policy through expert-led plenary sessions, workshops, and case studies covering topics such as cartel enforcement, abuse of dominance, merger control, investigation procedures and government restrictions to competition.

The Competition Summer School aims at fostering exchanges of experiences, facilitating cooperation and coordination amongst the participating authorities, as well as increase and deepen the contacts with EU officials and professionals.

This activity is funded by the European Union and is part of the Asia Partnerships Facility project.
