How can we write and deliver political speeches that make a difference?

That was the main topic of the training on speechwriting hosted by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in May. The College of Europe Executive Education, Training and Projects office teamed up with College’s visiting professor Helene Banner to deliver a successful training on writing and delivering impactful speeches and briefings in a multilateral context.

Helene Banner, a former European Commission spokesperson and speechwriter, used her solid experience in structuring and conveying political speeches to help participants better reflect upon their own speechwriting skills, and provided practical tools for efficiently and effectively write speeches and speaking points. 

The group of participants from the Directorate General for Multilateral Affairs and Globalisation and Directorate General European Affairs and Coordination found the training useful and practical, as well as highly engaging.
