Executive Education, Training and Projects Office: achievements, challenges and way forward to 2025!
As we conclude this year, we take the opportunity to thank our experts, trainers, participants, clients, and partners for their trust! Thanks to them, we have continued working to offer high-level executive education opportunities on EU affairs to professionals from various sectors.
From the flagship summer and autumn courses to tailor-made training initiatives, the Executive Education, Training and Projects Office has cemented its position as a leading hub for executive education on EU affairs.
Key highlights include:
- Ongoing Service Contracts and Projects: We advanced our work on pivotal projects such as ERMES III and El-Hiwar, reinforcing our expertise in facilitating policy dialogue and cooperation in and outside the EU.
- Successful Collaborations on Competition Law and Policy: We successfully organised the EU-funded Competition Summer School for officials from China, India and ASEA countries and the third Africa-EU Competition Week in partnership with competition authorities across Asia and Africa, fostering capacity building and regulatory excellence.
- Preparing for Leadership: we cooperated with national and international organisations to deliver targeted training courses to prepare officials on various topics and skills, including:
- Training on the Presidency of the Council of the EU and negotiations in collaboration with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (DFSA)
- Training on EU Diplomacy & Diplomatic Skills for GCC Officials
- Training on speechwriting hosted by the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Tailor-made training course on Development Cooperation for the Diplomatic Academy of the Flanders Chancellery & Foreign Office.
- Executive education training on Governance Development and Advanced Leadership organised in cooperation with ReSPA
-
Training on EU Fact Checking & EU Fact Finding
- Working with Diplomats around the world:
- Building on the success of the Pilot Programme, the College of Europe implemented the second phase of the European Diplomatic Academy under the auspices of the European External Action Service (EEAS), preparing future European diplomats for the challenges of a complex global landscape. This work paved the way for the fully fledged European Diplomatic Academy (EUDA), established for the four academic years from 2024-2025 to 2027-2028.
- Moreover, the College supported the EU and worked with Diplomatic Academies and diplomats around the world, organising training courses on EU foreign policy and other key topics for diplomats from Central Asian countries, Panama, Costa Rica, Chile and Peru.
- New activities in Tirana
- Back in June, we organised the first training course of the College of Europe in its newly established Tirana branch, marking a significant milestone in its mission of contributing to the European integration project. Following this first successful course, the Executive Education, Training & Projects Office is working on implementing training courses and activities in Tirana and across the region, to be implemented in 2025.
And as we step into 2025, we are excited to announce our refreshed portfolio of executive education courses. These updated programmes are designed to meet the evolving needs of professionals navigating European and international affairs.
