Exciting week for our Transatlantic Affairs Department

Our Transatlantic Affairs academic department and its MATA students have been particularly busy this week!

On Tuesday, September 17, the Chair of Transatlantic Trade and Economy organised its first event of the academic year: The Transatlantic Partnership in an election year - structural and situational challenges.

Dr. Benedetta Berti, Director of Policy Planning in the Office of the Secretary General at NATO and Prof. Joel Trachtman, Professor of International Law at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and holder of the Henry J. Braker Professorship of Commercial Law, engaged in a lively discussion with our students and guests on the future of the transatlantic partnership in a pivotal year on both sides of the ocean.

Dr. Ian Lesser, Chair of Transatlantic Trade and Economy, moderated the discussion.

On Thursday, September 19, our MATA students had the privilege of being invited to attend a farewell discussion with Jens Stoltenberg, outgoing NATO Secretary General. The discussion titled 'Reflections on a Challenging Decade' offered unique insights to complement our students' curriculum.
