College of Europe in Natolin Concludes 2025 Webinar Cycle on EU Accession for Moldovan Media Specialists
The College of Europe in Natolin has successfully concluded the webinar cycle of the 2025 edition of the Training on Accession Negotiations programme, whose focus is to strengthening the capacity of Moldovan media professionals to report on the EU accession process. It equips journalists with direct access to expert knowledge and e-learning modules on the accession negotiations and practical insights into Moldova’s European integration journey. The webinars are part of the #Natolin4MediainEU programme implemented by the Institute for European Policies and Reforms (IPRE), in partnership with the College of Europe in Natolin (CoEN), in cooperation with the Bureau for European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Moldova and with the support of the Soros Foundation Moldova (FSM).

Between October and November 2025, over 20 media specialists engaged in a series of interactive webinars within covering key topics such as:
- EU Integration and the Process of Transformation – The Central European Experience, highlighting lessons from Central European experiences in economic, social, and institutional reforms and preparations for membership in the EU.
- The European Commission’s Moldova Report 2025 and the Enlargement Package 2025 – offering an in-depth analysis of Moldova’s progress and reform priorities within the EU enlargement framework.
- Perspectives of the EU Enlargement – examining the evolving EU political dynamics related to the EU’s enlargement and their implications for Moldova’s accession path.
- Membership in the EU and Security Challenges – addressing topical European security issues and their implications for candidate countries.
The programme provided Moldovan journalists with practical knowledge and expert insights to improve reporting on the process of European integration and preparations for accession of Moldova to the EU. By connecting participants with experienced speakers, it strengthens media understanding of EU policies and developments, supporting more informed coverage of Moldova’s path toward European integration and allowing the wider public to build better comprehension of the process.
The next phase of the programm will be an on-site session at the College of Europe in Natolin for the selected ten journalists and media professional, offering hands-on experience and direct exposure to i.a. experienced journalists sharing lessons learned in communicating European integration during Poland’s preparations for membership in the EU. The participants will meet with EU officials, Polish journalists, and academic experts to explore best practices in communicating complex European topics to the public.
