Closing Ceremony of the Jacques Delors Promotion 2024/2025
On Friday, 20 June 2025, the College of Europe community gathered in the beautiful Bruges Stadsschouwburg to celebrate the Closing Ceremony of the Jacques Delors Promotion, marking the end of yet another unforgettable academic year!
Mr Herman VAN ROMPUY, President of the Administrative Council of the College of Europe, Mr Dirk DE FAUW, Mayor of the City of Bruges, Mr Carl DECALUWÉ, Governor of the Province of West-Flanders, and Rector Federica MOGHERINI took the stage to bid farewell to the students and wish them success in their upcoming journeys.
We also had the honour of welcoming His Majesty Felipe VI, the King of Spain, as our keynote speaker. In a powerful and heartfelt address, His Majesty reminded us of the importance of European unity, and of the responsibility we all share in protecting and advancing the values that underpin it: “Never before in history has a united, strong, and cohesive Europe been so vital, for the world and for ourselves.”
His Majesty’s words resonated deeply as the Jacques Delors Promotion prepares to embark on the next chapter of their lives: a powerful reminder of the responsibility to uphold and to lead the European unity further. As they step beyond the walls of the College, our graduates carry with them a shared commitment to this vision. The European project continues through what they will build, together!
