Annual Retreat of the UN Brussels Team at the College of Europe

On 4-5 September 2025, we were pleased to once again host the annual Retreat of the Heads of the UN Agencies in Brussels, further consolidating a longstanding tradition of institutional cooperation with the UN Regional Information Centre for Western Europe. 

As part of their retreat and strategic discussions on our Bruges campus, several senior UN officials also took the time to join the students of the Victoria Amelina Promotion for a special networking reception. This encounter offered a unique opportunity for our newcomers to engage directly with experienced professionals from the United Nations system, gaining first-hand insights into the practice of multilateral diplomacy.

Ms. Camilla BRÜCKNER, Director of the UN Office in Brussels, also attended the gathering and delivered a speech to our students, reflecting on the challenges and possibilities of international cooperation, while offering them a glimpse into future career paths within the United Nations. 

We are proud to continue this partnership with the United Nations team in Brussels and to provide our students with such exceptional learning and networking opportunities at the very start of their academic journey in Bruges!

The "UN Brussels Team" brings together representatives from 30 UN Agencies, Funds, Programmes, and Secretariat entities, spanning areas such as development, humanitarian aid, peace, and human rights.

The team works to strengthen the strategic partnership between the UN and the EU, to promote and pursue their common objectives at global and local levels.
