The College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to host a special debate on “The European Union’s Global Gateway Strategy” with Mr Domenico ROSA, Head of Unit in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA).
During this event, Mr Domenico ROSA discussed the Global Gateway investment initiative, one of the key strategic global initiatives of the Von der Leyen Commission. The European Commission and the EU High Representative have presented the Global Gateway initiative as a new European strategy to enhance smart, clean, and secure connections in the digital, energy, and transport sectors while strengthening health, education, and research systems worldwide. The initiative considers the needs of partner countries and aims to ensure lasting benefits for local communities. Half of the envisioned €300 billion in investments for sustainable, high-quality projects is dedicated to strengthening cooperation with African partners.
Mr ROSA explored the continued relevance of this strategy in a rapidly evolving international context.
