The Geostrategy Nest of the College of Europe in Natolin was pleased to host a discussion titled: "Security Developments in the Asia-Pacific" with Dr Sarah Katharina KIRCHBERGER, Academic Director and Head of the Center for Asia-Pacific Strategy and Security at the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK).
During the session, students had the opportunity to engage in a discussion on the rapid and significant security developments in the Asia-Pacific region, with particular focus on China's role and its broader implications.
About the speaker:

Dr Sarah Katharina KIRCHBERGER is the Academic Director and Head of the Center for Asia-Pacific Strategy and Security at the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK). She specialises in China’s military development, naval advancements, and Russia-China relations.
Her key publications include Assessing China's Naval Power (2015) and Russia-China Relations: Emerging Alliance or Eternal Rivals? (2022).
In April 2023, she testified before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on China’s undersea warfare capabilities. More about her can be found here.
